London Film Academy
The London Film Academy is a UK film school situated in Fulham, London. it was founded in 2001 as a non-profit making trust, the LFA provides practical courses on a variety of film-making skills.
The first trip to the film academy was based on cinematography and the group ha the chance to experiment with the lighting that was provided. The lighting that was focused on was 3 point lighting. The three point lighting is a standard method used in visual media such as film, video, still photography and computer generated imagery. it is a simple but versatile system which forms the basis of most lighting.
As well as this, we learnt how to use tungsten lights. The tungsten light is the most common kind of incandescent lightbulb used to provide artificial light to indoor areas such as in the home.
While experimenting with the lighting, we used different colour gel filters which changed the colour of the photography, and the opportunity to also combine the colours to get different gradients.
The images below show that the first image, the group chose to combine the colours red and blue and then in the second photograph, we combined yellow and green.
Product Editing
Within the next half of the day, we took pictures of stills, again with the different colours at different gradients. The pictures below show how we used the camera at different angles along with the use of the different gel filters. The main colour I am thinking of using is the red and blue gel filters. This is because the film genre is drama, and I think these colours will match and suit the disaster that I have based my film around.
